VILLA RECONSTRUCTION
NICOSIA
This project involved an extension and complete architectural renovation of an existing residence. While the original structure featured a ground-floor colonnaded façade, the home lacked hierarchy, spatial definition, and architectural presence.
The intervention introduced a newly constructed upper level, expressed as a solid limestone volume that redefines the proportions of the house. A pronounced horizontal cornice separates the original colonnade from the added storey, establishing clear architectural order and reinforcing the building’s identity. The elevated roofline, articulated chimney stacks, and refined façade detailing transform the residence into a more substantial and cohesive architectural composition.
Externally, the limestone cladding was carefully integrated across both levels to unify the structure. The entrance sequence, balustrades, custom metalwork, and courtyard landscaping were redesigned to strengthen symmetry and create a dignified arrival experience.
Internally, the residence was fully reimagined through classical detailing and bespoke millwork. Deep crown mouldings, panelled wall treatments, arched built-in shelving, and a limestone fireplace with marble insert introduce architectural depth and craftsmanship. Herringbone flooring and layered textures soften the formal framework, balancing timeless structure with contemporary comfort.
The result is a Villa elevated both physically and architecturally — a transformation that respects the original character while redefining its scale, presence, and interior refinement for modern living.
